Lubov Komarovskaya
WE REMEMBER
Lubov Komarovskaya

Lubov Komarovskaya
Grandma, Lubov Komarovskaya has passed away.
She was 99 and ½ years old. Luba raised me and we were very close to the very end.
Here are a few words about her;
Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother left us. In the Soviet Union, she was Lyubov Markovna, and in the States she became simply Lyubov, and for many, Baba Lyuba. She lived a long and difficult life, almost lived to her 100th anniversary.
They say that a person must give birth to a son, build a house, plant a tree. Baba Lyuba left behind a rich inheritance: two sons, seven grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are too many to count. And she planted a lot of trees and built houses at each stop of her life’s path: Odessa -Siberia – Chisinau – Tashkent – Ural – Perm – Kamchatka – Moscow – New York – Boston. And before that, at the beginning of the war, she fled from her native Odessa region to Siberia as her family was divided into mostly men who fought the Nazis in a bitter fight and women and children who fled from Nazi occupation of the Soviet Union with what they could carry in their hand luggage. As a teenager she worked hard for the front at factories and in supply logistics all for Victory in World War 2.
Baba Lyuba left quietly and calmly, just as she had lived. Relatives and friends will mourn the loss and will always remember the warmth and care that she generously gave to her dear people.
Sleep peacefully, Baba Lyuba. You deserve peace and our eternal memory!
